Healthy and Beautiful Skin with MEDICODE

Hi lovely readers, it has been quite a while since my last update here. Well, can I say that I'm glad to be back!
Life has been super busy these days, hence my disappearance here... And if you are following me on my IG you would know that I'm also a lot less active recently... because #adulting. T.T
Anyway, this time I'm back because I absolutely need to share my latest beauty find with y'all.
MEDICODE!
MEDICODE seek to revolutionise the way we treat and care for our skin. They see the future of skincare as being interlinked with the development of modern technologies and treatments that enable key ingredients to penetrate deep into the epidermal layer of the skin. All products are made in Singapore (yay!) and backed by clinical research and development. Their airless bottle design helps to maintain the active ingredients' integrity and allows the formula to be free from unnecessary preservative, ensuring maximum efficacy of their products.

Currently with 6 products available in their line, I've decided to try out these 4:
Comedones Essence, Ultra Hydrating Serum, Oil-Free Hydra Cream annd Intensive Rich Eye Cream

A natural formulation with over 10 botanical extracts, anti-bacterial complex and nano-encapsulation technology to help reduce the appearance of our pores, blackheads and whiteheads.
I NEED.

This essence is super lightweight and watery in texture, that literally gets absorbed by the skin immediately. Definitely a plus point when you're short of time for your daily morning skincare routine, yes? Who has got the time to wait for your essence to "set" before layering on the serum/moisturiser? Definitely not me!

Available in 30ml or 60ml, this ultra hydrating and anti-aging serum is able to penetrate deep into our skin. Based on smart-delivery nano technology, the active ingredients in the serum is highly compatible to our skin's natural composition. Not only that, this serum helps reflect UVA rays and protect our skin too!

Just slightly more viscous as compared to the essence, this serum is still super lightweight and spreadable, gliding onto my skin effortlessly and gets absorbed readily in no time.

A calming and anti-inflammatory oil-free cream, this product has a unique lightweight formula that provides the skin with deep hydration. It contains 4 types of Hyaluronic acid and Polygutamic acid, which is then further enhanced with Ceramides, Collagen and Ice Plant Fermented Probiotic Lysate, giving us skin barrier repair and protection.

Being an oily-skin girl, I always shun away from facial creams in general. But this oil-free formulation feels very lightweight and spreadable on my skin, leaving no sticky or oily feeling after the product gets absorbed. Two thumbs up!

Containing a high level of antioxidants, this helps to improve dark circles, brighten up skin tone and prevent collagen degradation. And thanks to the innovative gold-stabilisation process, the Vitamin C absorbs more effectively into our skin.
Containing Beautieye as one of the active ingredients, which is clinically proven to decrease 61% of drooping surface of our upper eyelids, this eye cream helps to target our sagging upper eyelids and beautify our eye contour.

With a similar creamy-yet-not-oily texture as the Hydra Cream, a little goes a long way for this eye cream. Just a pea-size is more than enough to get my eye contour area well moisturised throughout the day/night.

NanoMD Bright [Sponsored]

And so, after trying out Dermagold's amazing New Elite Miracle C+ Serum, I'm really glad to be able to try out their newly launched skin supplement, the NanoMD Bright!

The NanoMD Bright is the world's newest and most advanced supplement for skin protection, nutrition and brightening. It represents the cutting-edge scientific discovery in the nutrition and nano technology in a one-tablet-a-day form. Although topical lotions provide an essential protection of the outer layers of your skin, this exciting new pill can do what no topical cosmetic skin agent can: improve the deeper structure of your skin
-www.mynanomd.com-

Sounds really amazing, right?
With ingredients such as Pygnogenol, Tomato Phytoconcentrate and L-cysteine, NanoMD Bright helps to brighten our skin tone, reduces pigmentation and improves our overall skin texture from within. Its nano formula not only addresses pigmentation, but also provides an additional sun damage reduction and systemic photo-protection (oral sunblock, YES!), which will build up slowly over several weeks of consumption.
The fact that NanoMD Bright comes in the form of a pill, to be ingested and not applied topically, means that we will gain years of healthy and glowing skin, not just on our face, but all over our entire body.

I personally like how the tablets come in such handy-dandy packs, which makes it so much more convenient and easier to bring out in your smallest purse.

NanoMD Bright now retails at dermagold.sg (HERE) at $179 for 1 month's supply.

Althea Korea: A'bloom Launch

Yes, Althea Korea has yet another awesome launch, A'bloom, bringing to us a series of great products at a very affordable price.

The newly launched A'bloom collection is still relatively small, consisting of 4 different facial masks, meringue make up puffs and a blackhead blaster stick. And do I need to further point it out that their packaging is just so ridiculously adorable?

A’bloom BHA Blackhead Blaster is an easy and quick triple treatment for blackheads, whiteheads and dead skin for daily care. It contains natural ingredients to help gently deep cleanse the pores and removing dead skin cells while preventing any irritations or redness on the skin.

The product comes in the form of a super convenient and handy twist-up stick and using it can't get any easier. Just dampen your face, twist up a little bit of the product and just roll it away on your face. You can just keep to your targeted area with blackhead & whitehead issue, but I went around my entire face and focus more on my t-zone. After washing off the product, my skin felt thoroughly cleanse but without the tight, squeaky clean feeling.

The 4 main ingredients in the BHA Blackhead Blaster are:
● Natural BHA ingredient to deep cleanse our pores by exfoliating the dead skin cells.
● Apricot seed powder to remove excessive sebum.
● Charcoal to absorb the dirt in the pores.
● Tea tree leaf oil to soothe as well as prevent any redness and irritations on the skin

A'bloom Fruit Mask Packs, $0.60 each, $5 for 10 pieces.

Peaches are rich in moisture and vitamin A retinol components which helps control the oil and water balance of the skin. It helps normalize the skin turnover cycle with retinol by preventing troubles and taking care of dead skin cells and provide smooth, hydrated skin. The mask contains tea tree extract to help sterilization and takes care of trouble spots and pores.

The watermelon fruit has 92% of water which is excellent for moisturizing and soothing for the skin during the hot weather. It contains natural aminoic acid called Citrulin and Betain that forms a natural moisturizing membrane on the skin, leaving it moisturized as well as a smoother skin that does not dry out. The mask also contains lavender extract which helps soothe sensitive skin and provides liveliness.

Lemon and lime contains high vitamin C ingredient to help repair and protect the skin from UV damage. The vitamin C’s function of inhibiting melanin production provides a clear and
transparent skin. This mask contains green tea extract which is also rich in vitamin C ingredient to assist in controlling melanin production and skin care.

Avocado is known as the butter of the forest with rich protein that prevents aging and provides strong antioxidant with vitamin E tocopherol. The excellent absorption of skin-friendly unsaturated fatty acid provides shininess and elasticity to the skin. It is mix with hibiscus flower extract that contains Antocyanin, an antioxidant to prevent the skin from aging.

I love these little diagram at the back of each mask, telling you the main benefits (and its efficacy in comparison to each other) of the mask.

The mask sheet is of an extremely soft and smooth texture that sticks over my face like a second skin, while the essence that's soaked up in the sheet is of the right consistency that's neither too watery (that it drips everywhere) nor too thick (feels too heavy on the skin). Popping the pack into the fridge for 10 to 15 minutes before taking it out and applying on your face also makes masking a super refreshing experience, especially when the days/nights gets unbearably hot!

And now, get ready for some ultimate cuteness!

I literally squealed upon pulling these out of the box, especially those baby ones. They are so adorable, and in different shades of PINK! These cute little meringue sponge puff design was inspired by none other than meringue cookies! The giant meringue puff will provide quick and smooth makeup application on wide surface of the skin while the baby meringue puff will provide fine and detailed makeup application on small surface of the skin with its pointed tips.

The meringue puffs are made out of non-latex sponge with hydrophilic properties which will
grow 1.5 times bigger than normal size when soaked with water allowing makeup to be applied
perfectly on the skin.

There is two ways to use these puffs to achieve a flawless make up look:
1. Soak the puff in water (and squeeze out the excess, of course) to get a moist and glossy skin
2. Use the puff dry to get a matte and flawless looking skin

A'bloom collection is now available on Althea Korea

Mia's Review: MKUP Real Complexion Cream (HONEST Review)

And recently there were tons of raves about this real complexion cream by MKUP floating around on the internet.
Is it really worth the hype?

All the awesome things this product claims to do are stated on the back of the packaging. But if you haven't heard of this crazily raved product or seen the magical video of how it changes your dull and horrible complexion into a flawless looking one in mere 5 minutes, then you should know that MKUP boasts of this complexion cream as the only product ladies need, for EVERYTHING.
Be it as skincare, or cosmetic.
Be it day routine, or night routine.
You just need this ONE bottle.

Like, really?

Anyway, over to the packaging first, which I really like. The entire packing was really pretty (pinkish, rose print and all) and handy.

And having the cream kept in a push down air pump means no chance of product contamination. Usually, just 1 full pump is enough for me to apply the cream all over my face and neck.

As you can see, the cream is white, with a pale purplish tint. It also comes with a lovely, sweet floral scent, which I love so much! Texture wise, it may feel a tad heavy and sticky when you first try to spread it out, but it does get absorbed (or feels to be absorbed) eventually, giving you a matte and slightly refreshing feeling.

While spreading out the cream. And as you can see, this product will definitely create a ghastly looking white cast and give you a glorious geisha-inspired finish look if you pile it on. So really, a little goes a long way.

And after blending it out, TADAA~!
You can see absolutely NO effects!

Everything MKUP's video claimed to do, all the concealing of undereye circles, redness from blemishes, dilated pores and etc, it doesn't.
If you apply more, thinking that the no visible effect is because of too little product applied, then you'll end up with a ghastly white cast.
The whole claim of how we can substitute everything (skincare included) in our routine with just this 1 bottle is also a huge fraud.
Don't fall for it, ladies!

The ONLY saving grace of this product, other than the lovely scent and packaging, would probably be the oil control efficacy. When using this, I found that my face was a lot less shinier at the end of the day. If you're an oily girl like me who wear glasses, you'll understand the pain and annoyance of having your glasses slipping down your oily, slippery nose every other few seconds of pushing it back up. But when I was using this product, my glasses pretty much stayed put on my nose throughout the day.
And yes, I said, "when I WAS using..."
And why am I not using this anymore? Because THIS BROKE ME OUT. I developed TONS of whiteheads around my nose (the butterfly area) and on my chin. And it kind of make sense that it happened because something in this product is preventing my facial sebum from coming out from my pores to the skin surface and hence everything got clogged inside and formed whiteheads.

So, this product doesn't really do oily ladies good, and neither will it do dry ladies good (because it's more mattifying than hydrating).
So really, what's with the hype, huh?

But, if you won't believe it until you've tried for yourself, you can pick up the 10ml travel size tubes first (instead of getting the 30ml full size product) HERE

EDIT: THIS PRODUCT CONTAINS TITANIUM DIOXIDE. IT IS NOT A SKINCARE! YOU ABSOLUTELY HAVE TO REMOVE IT AT THE END OF THE DAY LIKE OTHER MAKEUP PRODUCTS.

ps. The video states this product hails from Korea, but I believe MKUP is a Taiwanese brand.

Mia's Review: Foot Medi Foot Peeling Spray

-credits to gaitway.com.au-

Do you know, cracked heels doesn't necessary just makes you look bad while strutting around in your killer (strappy, backless) heels, but also smell bad. The accumulation of old dead skin cells will eventually give you sticky and stinky feet as fungi and sebum tend to latch onto the dead cells. And these are hard to clean off with just regular washing.

I've previously tried foot pumice (they really doesn't work much), foot files (mehh) and the once very popular pedi-egg, which by far is the most efficient, but it going to be a serious arms' workout as well. Recently, I came across a foot peeling spray on Qoo10 and decided to give it a try.

Retailing at the usual price of $19.90 on Qoo10 (and as low as $7 on auction promo), this product came across as those skin exfoliating products we usually use on our faces.

With a spray head that comes along with a lock function, usage is extremely simple.

You just spray the product onto your feet generously, and wait for 20 seconds before rubbing.

And expect all your dead skin cells to be exfoliated off! It's really quite a nice feeling rubbing out so many dead skin cells off my heavily callused feet. The product also comes with a nice citrus-orangey scent and can be used on either dry or wet feet, which means you can use it in the showers! How convenient!

That's my (still very dry and quite cracky) feet after 1 usage of the product.

Well, obviously this product is not some miracle dead skin peeling spray that will give you baby smooth feet in just one usage. However, I still feel that it's a good product to have if you are at the two most extremities of the spectrum: You have horribly cracked heels, or you have a decent looking pair of heels with moderately well moisturised and smooth skin.

If you're well blessed to be the latter, then this spray will be perfect on its own as your weekly or bi-weekly foot peeling treatment to keep your feet as well-maintained. On the other hand, if you're not (like yours truly), then having a foot pumice/foot file/pedi egg alone will not be sufficient to remove callus mountain on your feet.
I personally found my pedi egg experience right after using this foot spray much easier and quicker, with more dead skin shaved off much quicker and easier.

You can purchase Foot Medi Foot Peeling Spray at Qoo10 right HERE
