Still loving their luxurious and comfortable treatment rooms and super soft comforter covers. HEH!

And to better see the true effects of the treatment (just after 1 session), here's my face after running the treatment over half of my face.
Behold my super lopsided face!
I think I need not even tell you on which side of my face the treatment was done first, yes?

The entire session was pretty quick and fuss-free. It took me merely 1.5 hours to leave the salon with a smaller and firmer looking face, with a quick extraction, face & shoulder massage, face mask and all!

And yup, I wore my favourite kaonashi tee out for the day.

And I'm so glad to know that they're still serving the yummy yogurt with muesli (and dried fruit) as their after-treatment snack!

Mia's Review: Bellezza Aesthetics [Sponsored]

Bellezza Aesthetics has been at the forefront of providing a relaxing and exquisite aesthetics beauty treatment in recent years. They have a crew of highly qualified and experienced beauty experts who enable them to bestow a broad spectrum of top-notch beauty treatments for face, eyes and body.

My first impression of Bellezza Aesthetics when I stepped into the salon was that, everything looks so luxurious and pretty.

Before starting the facial treatment session, I was served a cup of hot tea and my favourite Lotus Biscoff biscuits while I fill in the necessary forms for the therapist know more about my conditions.
For my oily, blemish prone spotted with acne scars, the therapist suggested that I give their Reawaken Skin Booster Facial a try.

I was shown to the room, which was really clean and cozy looking, and then left to change into the robes. There is also a cabinet for you to hang up your clothes and keep your bag and belongings (nothing too bulk, though).

The Reawaken Skin Booster Facial is a customised and multi-functional treatment that can help to minimise fine lines and wrinkles, tighten pores, restore skin elasticity, lighten spots and scars, fights blemishes and even out skin tone. Basically, if you're new to facial treatments or have tons of concerns for your skin, this will be the number one choice of treatment for you as it is suitable for all skin types and concerns.

The facial treatment works from our skin surface to the deepest layers of our skin to regenerate and repair our skin, giving a smoother, brighter, youthful looking and radiant complexion.

After running the treatment on half of my face. The lighting cast a shadow on my pre-treatment side and it's quite hard to see the difference. But the lightening of my dark ring and evening of skintone on my cheek were visible just after 1 treatment.

What surprised me was that the therapist not only trimmed my eyebrows but also gave me an extraction (which probably explains why my nose is red in the picture). This is the first time I've ever gotten eyebrow trimming and extraction during a sponsored session.

In addition, Bellezza Aesthetics is also known for its exclusive Face Lift and De-stress shoulder massage technique, to help the skin regain elasticity and drain toxins. I'm not very much of a massage person (very ticklish!) but it was surely enjoyable for the therapist exerted just the right amount of pressure to not give me discomfort and also doesn't make me feel ticklish. The neck part did get a little ticklish though, but still manageable.

Apart from the Reawaken Skin Booster Facial, I was also given a hand pampering session with their Silky Collagen Royal Hand treatment while I had my facial mask on. This hand treatment includes a hand massage and a hot wax mask with plant placenta collagen, to give us fairer and smoother hands. The wax was a little too hot for me when I first immersed my hand into 'bag of liquid wax', but the heat disperse quickly enough for the rest of my 'resting time' to be nothing short of comfortable and relaxing.

Tadaa! My 100% no make up selfie.
My face got visibly brighter after the treatment and was definitely smoother to the touch. Who needs make up when you can get baby-smooth and fair skin?

To end the session, I was given a hot towel to perhaps, wipe off the residual wax off my cold hands and also help to warm them up and got to enjoy another cup of yummy tea and yoghurt with muesli!

Bellezza Aesthetics is now offering all my readers a trial for the Reawaken Skin Booster Facial at only $38, which excludes the Silky Collagen Hand Treatment session.

Valid for first time customer and those who haven't visited for the past 6 months, aged 18 and above only
Valid for Singaporean / PR / EP / SP / WP
Prior appointment is required, and both females and males are welcome to try out this treatment.

Mia's Review: Clear SK Hydrabright Lazer Facial [Sponsored]

Previously, I've blogged about ClearSK's Aqua Acne Clear Renewal Facial and this time round, I've returned to ClearSK at Novena Medical Centre to try out their Hydrabright Lazer Facial treament!

Meant to be a comfortable and pampering skin whitening treatment, the Hydrabright Lazer Facial first started off with the cosmetic lazer treatment, which uses LHE (Light and Heat Energy) to keep the skin supple and rejuvenated. The LHE also helps to brighten the skin tone and lighten pigmented skin conditions, such as acne marks and mild pigments.
Resembling something like IPL, the handheld machine emits a very bright light (my eyes were covered by a layer of cloth but I could still see bright flashes with my eyes closed) when held against my skin and I could feel heat, which varies from mild to a little too hot for comfort (but still bearable) at different parts of my face. There's also a burning smell as the heat burns off my facial hair, which is normal.

And after the LHE session, we moved on to a Japanese technology of Iontophoresis to break down pigments without damaging the skin.

Light ultrasonic waves are first passed over the skin for gentle exfoliation before ascorbic and other antioxidants are applied onto the skin and a gentle current passed using an electrode creates an electrical gradient to propel the pure ascorbyl phosphate solution into the pores. It does sound a little painful to pass electricity through our skin, but it's actually pretty painless, just a dull numbing/vibrating sensation as the equipment slides around my face.
After that, a light ultrasonic infusion of Vitamin C moisturiser was applied before a layer of facial masque was applied on for 15 minutes to lock in all the active ingredients.

 Before.....

And after...

Though the improvement are not drastic, you can still see that the overall texture of my skin has improved just with 1 treatment (especially at the area below my eyes and right above my cheekbones) and my skin also got brighter.

And once again, showing off my geeky spectables to sign off....

Mia's Review: Hadara Sparkling Eye Therapy [Advertorial]

Thanks to Janel, I was invited to a session of Hadara Sparkling Eye Therapy at Hadara Aesthetics Boutique to help save my tired eyes.

Upon entering the boutique salon, I was greeted with a pleasant scent in the air, which apparently is a blend of organic aromatic oils specially concocted for Hadara in collaboration with a clinical herbalist. This signature scent creates a warm and welcoming ambience that uplifts and relaxes to dissolve stress and tension.

Apart from the uplifting scent, I was also greeted with a display of the Dermagold products.

And their star product, Miracle C+ is the 2015 winner of Simply Her Smart Shopper Great Skin Awards, which I will talk about it in a separate post at a later date.

Needless to say, all facial treatment started off with a consultation and I had a nice chat with Dermagold's representative, Isabel, for her to find out more about my skin conditions and to recommend what type of products are more suited for my skin.

I was then brought to their treatment room, nicely done up and impeccably neat, for 30 minutes of their Sparkling Eye Therapy, which has won the Singapore's Women Weekly Spa and Salon Award: Best Eye Treatment-Hydrating category. (Announced in May 2015 issue)

Hadara's Sparkling Eye Therapy is a relaxing eye treatment designed to hydrate the eye area with Vitamin C, plant stem cells, peptides and anti-oxidants, using only Dermagold skincare products and complemented by a therapeutic eye massage.
This therapy is especially suitable for those with tired eyes or those who use mobile devices, laptops
and PC for extended hours, namely yours truly.

Benefits of the therapy include:

1. Stimulates blood flow to the skin, muscles and capillaries around the eyes area, helps to drain excess fluids, reduce sagging areas, tones the eye muscles and nourishes new cell growth. Thus reduces crow’s feet.

2. Activates the pressure points around the eye sockets to help release tension in the visual system and increase the flow of life energy to the eyes.

3. Enhances penetration of products into the skin for maximal effect

After cleansing my face thoroughly with a cleansing milk, the therapist went on to do a scrub on my eye area using Dermagold award-winning Purifying Scrub, mild enough to be used on my delicate eye area, followed by Dermagold Brightening Revitalizer to activate the ascorbic acid embedded in plant oils like jojoba oil and shea butter.
Then, the therapist started the Sparkling Eye Treatment using the Dermagold Massage Cream before letting me rest with the eye masks and then finishing up the entire treatment using more Dermagold skincare products.

And now, let's see the results after just 30 minutes of the eye treatment.

Before

After

Even though the results on picture isn't obvious (mostly due to the shadow my eyelashes cast on my undereye area) but you can see still visible brightening effect at certain parts around my eyes. There's also a very slight uplift at the corners of my eyes and smoother skin, probably due to the therapist's massage.

If you've plans after the session, fret not, for Hadara has not only prepared the necessary tools to let you get back that awesome hairdo but also mineral makeup for you to prim up your face, just in case you left your make up bag back at home.

And right opposite the huge beauty mirror, is their pantry with my cup of tea on the island counter waiting for me.

I was served the rejuvenation tea, which was fragrant with a hint of sweetness and left me feeling rejuvenated and refreshed.

Enjoy your Hadara Sparkling Eye Therapy experience (Ala Carte) at only $88!

Mia's Review: OxyGeneo™ NeoBright at SkinLab The Medical Spa [Sponsored]

Last weekend, I was really honoured to be invited for a sponsored facial session with SkinLab located at Plaza Singapura.

After assessing my skin condition, the therapist decided to let me try out their latest treatment, OxyGeneo™  NeoBright, a 3-in-1 super facial treatment that comes in 3 steps: Exfoliate + Infuse + Oxygenate.
Touted as the new super facial, we can get the exfoliation benefits of microdermabrasion plus deep facial rejuvenation with the infusion of essential revitalizing nutrients and healing skin oxygenation from within. OxyGeneo™ treatments are suitable for all skin types – any ethnicity and pigmentation, sensitive skin, and even for those who keloid (scar) and couldn't otherwise have abrasion treatments.

Advantages of OxyGeneo™ includes:
• Skin Plumping & Hydrating
• Restored Skin Volume
• Renewed Youthful Glow
• Increased Collagen
• Reduced hyper-pigmentation
• Improved Skin Cell Production
• Reduce Appearance of Wrinkles
• Safe for any skin type (unless there's peeling)

Similar to microdermabrasion, the OxyGeneo™ exfoliates the upper skin layer to remove dead cells, smooth and renew the skin, preparing it to receive active nutrients. The OxyGeneo™ is safe on all skin tones and can treat sensitive skin without any irritation.
Through the exclusive Capsugen, the OxyGeneo™ cleanses the skin while infusing nutrient-rich active ingredients. There is two treatments available. NeoRevive™ for rejuvenation and anti-aging or NeoBright™ for skin brightening and texture improvement.
The OxyGeneo™ produces CO2 bubbles which gently burst on the skin surface creating a physiological response, sending oxygen-rich blood to the area, increasing capillary flow and skin metabolism. Oxygenation results in optimal absorption of active ingredients.

NeoBright reduces skin pigmentation and sun damage while lightening the complexion.
There are 3 components involved:
Azelaic Acid for even pigmentation, Kojic Acid for skin lightening, and Retinol for anti-aging.

And so, after the short consultation, I was led to one of the rooms to change into my facial gown.

The room was clean and simple, equipped with a large mirror and a bed with pretty comfortable comforter blanket.

And that's the machine I got to try out for the day.

After cleansing my face thoroughly...

I had a quick massage...

And the therapist got the treatment started!

I shall not bore you with all the different steps in the facial treatment, so let's get straight to what's important!

A mid-facial shot taken after half of my face was done with the final treatment (the side with the half fallen out double eyelid sticker, UNGLAM!)

As you can see, the results was amazing! I looked as though I was smirking with the right side of my face totally lifted while my left side remains saggy. And as the therapist also extended the treatment area down to my neck, my deep neckline has visibly lighten, although it wasn't captured in the picture.

And that's my after facial look with absolutely no traces of make up on (and a pair of super geeky oversized glasses) and taken with my new samsung nx mini with no additional photoshopping.

SkinLab offers treatment not only for face, but also for body, hair and contouring.

Mia's Review: ClearSK Aqua Acne Clear Renewal Facial [Sponsored]

I remembered I went through puberty with a breeze, having not much of an issue with any pimple breakouts on my face and I thought I was a lucky girl. But oh well, it's not that it didn't come, it just came late.
Came early adulthood, and I started breaking out like mad. It got so bad that there wasn't an inch of space on my face that wasn't covered in bumps. I tried treatment creams after treatment creams, nothing seemed to work, and I was so depressed. But eventually, it went away. But not before leaving traces of its past existence on my face.
Acne scarring.
They were the reason why I love using filter so much while taking selfies. Oh well!

Just imagine how elated I was when I received the invitation from Samplestore to receive a sponsored package treatment of ClearSK's Aqua Acne Clear Renewal Facial!

Founded in 2008, ClearSK is a one-stop provider of expert-guided medi-aesthetics solutions for the face and body, using medical technologies designed and tested by medi-aesthetics experts. ClearSK has a wide selection of medi-skincare and medi-slimming treatments that are personalised and prescribed by aesthetics experts to custom-fit the unique make-up of the individual's skin and body. Conveniently located in 12 outlets island-wide (Novena Medical Center, Velocity, Orchard, Toa Payoh, Tampines, Jurong East and other upcoming 6 outlets), ClearSK offers every client a holistic non-invasive treatment program at reasonable prices, combining high-tech facials and medi-slimming treatments based on innovations in cosmetic lasers, focused energy, and medical grade skincare ingredients.

ClearSK @ Novena Medical Centre

The Aqua Acne Clear Renewal Facial helps to get rid of dead skins, maintenance of acne prone or combination skin, correction of acne marks/scars, reducing fine lines and balancing uneven skin tone. It is a 3 steps procedure starting with Diamond Microdermabrasion, which is in clinical grade diamond chips that will helps to exfoliate the superficial layer of the skin. This is followed by Aqua Exfoliation using acids, and will depend on each individual skin types. The acid treatment will help to deep clean and remove the oil clogs. The final touch in this facial treatment is what we called hydration infusion, which prevent over stimulation and drying of skin. For for faster result, combining treatments such as IPL/LASER/Light Emitting Diodes is highly recommended.

For my first 2 treatments, I was scheduled to visit their branch located at Velocity@Novena Square. Located conveniently at level 2, right opposite a hipster-looking cafe, it was hard to miss the bright deep sea blue light emitting against a clean, stark white interior. Upon entering, I was tended to by a cheery staff, dressed in crisp white uniform, and politely asked if I could wait until my appointment time to start my treatment, for I was a good 15 minutes early.

And of course, I didn't mind, for there's Oreos around to 'entertain' me.

And true enough, at 6:30pm sharp, a therapist came up to me and showed me to the room. It was a pretty small and clean room, with a cabinet for me to keep my belongings (and also a pull out mirror inside for the vainpots ladies to check their appearances after the treatment), and a comfortable-looking bed with soft, fluffy comforter blanket.
Frankly speaking, I've visited a handful of facial & spa parlour, and this is the very first time I've been provided with a comforter blanket! There's a good reason for this as well, I reckon, for their aircon is really pretty cold.

And after pulling the machine over next to the bed, the therapist started the treatment by cleansing my face and then running the diamond  microdermabrasion (DM) tool on my skin, starting from my neck up to my face.
I was still pretty worried for some stinging sensation, for "exfoliate the superficial layer of the skin" sounds just like it, but I was pleasantly surprised to feel that the process felt nothing more than just some suction running around the surface of your skin. And after completion of the DM, the therapist removed the disposable portion of the tip, which has turned a dirty shade of grey with all my dirt and dead skins caught inside, and showed them to me. And according to her, mine is still pretty okay, judging from the fact that I work in a highly dusty and dirty construction environment, for she has seen other ladies' turned totally black.

And so, after the DM, the therapist proceeded with the acids using another equipment, which releases minute amount of the acids onto my face while she massages them into my skin. She first releases salicylic acid, which helps with deep cleansing of my pores. Then, came lactic acid, which helps with improving my skin texture and hydration level. Lastly, it was a good dose of hyaluronic acid, which helps to greatly hydrate my dry skin, which might be made even drier with the DM and acid deep cleansing.
Having tried acid peel once, I was even more worried for the acid part of the treatment, for my past experience really did sting pretty bad. But once again, I was pleasantly surprised to feel absolutely no form of discomfort as the acids were released and massaged into my skin.
And finally, the therapist left me to rest with a hydrating sheet mask for about 30 minutes before completing the entire facial session with application of toner and moisturiser. As my treatments were all schedule in the late evening and ended around 8 o'clock at night, sunscreen application was omitted. Otherwise, applying suncreen on the skin will be extremely important after the treatment, for the skin will still be on recovery mode. We're also recommended to use minimum SPF 30 sunscreen before heading out, and avoid too much exposure to sunlight and any abrasion actions on the skin while the skin recovers.

And now, after 3 sessions, let me show you the difference in the condition of my skin.

Before, left and right cheek.

And after, left and right cheek.

Pardon the horrible lighting in the after pictures, which totally didn't do the overall obvious brightening of my skin tone from the treatment any justice.

But with the exception of a newly erupted pimple on my right cheek, you can easily see that the acne marks (angry red spots) has gone down quite a lot, and I felt that my skin unevenness has also smoothen out slightly, albeit hardly captured in pictures.

So yup, I do feel that this facial treatment is quite worth the penny, and if you're also facing skin problems like clogged pores, blemishes and acne marks, why not give ClearSK a try too?
