Mucota Omega & Mucota Infinia at Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing [Sponsored]

If you've been following my blog and other random posts on my social media accounts, you should know that my frequent collaborations with Ken at Focus goes a long way back when I visited their Cuppage branch as a normal paying customer.

Imagine my surprise when Ken told me, starting next month, November 2020, he will be moving over to Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing instead.

Located at Hong Lim Complex, he's actually just shifted to the next building from where he's currently now  at (Chinatown Point). HAHA!

And so, other than snipping off a few more centimetres of my dry, scratchy hair ends and doing my usual Mucota Omega (hair rebonding) touch up, Ken also introduced the new (albeit, not THAT new, but still new to me) Mucota Infinia Hair Treatment.

Touted as the number 1 anti-frizz hair treatment, Mucota Infinia is effective for highly damaged bleached hair, which tends to have cuticles that are wide open. Mucota Infinia contains acidic components that will help to close up the cuticles, hence making the hair soft and smooth again.
In addition, the treatment, although strong at repairing our hair from inside to ourside, is also lightweight and doesn't weigh the hair down. The treatment also takes considerably shorter time to complete, in less than an hour, with the effects lasting 4 to 6 weeks!

Unlike Mucota Scena, which comes in 3 or 5 steps, Mucota Infinia comes in either 3 (A, B, C) or 4 (additional S) steps. According to Ken, Mucota Infinia also contains less silicone, hence the treated hair may not feel as soft and silky smooth as compared to Mucota Scena.

Yay to tidy, straight hair roots again!

True enough, my hair felt a little stiffer compared to how it usually felt after doing Mucota Scena, but I love how quick Mucota Infinia takes, and still made my hair soft and smooth. It's been slightly more than 2 weeks since my hair appointment, and yet with daily washing, my hair still feels smooth to the touch!

Focus Hairdressing: Back to Black with Oway Hcolor (Special Discount For ALL Readers!)

After getting my c-curls last month with Focus Hairdressing, I returned to visit Ken again to get rid of my yellow hair! Yes, unfortunately, even after chopping of more than half of my locks, I still have some leftover hair that's previously bleached.

See that glorious tuff of shiny orange ends there? I swear the lighting has made them less hay-ish. And yes that's my geeky glasses sitting on the counter right there. HEH!

And I'm glad to be able to try out their new organic and ammonia free hair colour, Hcolor, from OWay.

Compared to other ammonia-free hair colouring system in the market, Hcolor has more colour options available and also comes with a pleasant, sweet-floral fragrance and gives you a reduced likelihood of respiratory and skin irritation, even in the most sensitive of individuals. Hcolor respects the hair fibre and the hair's physiological pH, hence helping our hair to maintain its structure.

And after the going back to dark brown, it's time to give my scalp some attention with Oway scalp treatment.

At Focus, their Oway treatments uses 100% biodynamic (which, I'm told is better than organic), micronised plants to target 3 main scalp issues:

1. Purifying - To treat dandruff and flakes
2. Rebalancing - To regulate excess sebum
3. Soothing - To soothe sensitive scalp

If I didn't read the catalogue wrong, I think Oway originally have another treatment system specially for hair-loss, but Focus do not offer that option as the previous 3 treatments all have anti-hair fall properties.

And it just so happens that I've been experiencing abnormal hair-fall recently after switching to a brand new shampoo/conditioner, and so soothing treatment it shall be!

The treatment has a very strong herbal scent and gave my scalp an icy, tingling sensation.

And now, showing you my before-after pictures...

Obviously the before: look at all those sebum!

After: All traces of sebum wiped out and my scalp felt thoroughly cleansed.

And as I've mentioned earlier, I've been experiencing abnormal hair loss recently due to a change in shampoo/conditioner that doesn't suit me, and this treatment actually did work to reduce my hair fall! I've stopped seeing like, countless strands of hair sticking to my palms when I shampoo/condition my hair these days.
HUGE THUMBS UP!

Lastly, to end off the day, Ken gave me another colour treatment, Milbon Deesse's Aqua Smooth Veil Treatment. This Milbon Deesse's treatment is also a 3-step treatment and is quite similar to Mucota Scena (read my review of it HERE). The treatment creates 3 layers to treat and infuse the hair with moisture instantly, repairing and smoothen our hair from inside out.

However, to be brutally honest, I would have much preferred sticking to Mucota Scena (is it psychological or what?) as I felt that my hair turned out much smoother with Scena as compared to Milbon. The silky effect of the treatment after my regular hair washes, somehow, also lasted longer with Scena, but it might be because my hair wasn't c-curled back then?

Oway Hcolor is now priced at $100 - $150 (for my hair. it was $140) and you only need to top up $60 to get Oway scalp treatment (usual price $90).

And for now, Focus Hairdressing Chinatown will be giving all you lovely readers a special discount of 15% off Oway Hair Colouring service.

All you need to do is to flash my blog page (molly-mia.blogspot.sg) on your mobile phone to enjoy the special discount!

Mia's Review: DYNA Mucota Argan Oil Treatment with Headlines by Artistry (Sponsored)

If you follow me on my IG, you'll know that I've recently mucota-ed my hair again, and this time at Headlines by Artistry.

I don't think you'll need more introduction about Headlines as they're highly discussed upon by bloggers these days and especially popular for their Mucota DYNA treatment. And as you know, I'm an avid Mucota supporter, but has yet to try out DYNA. So I was truly elated when I received the sponsorship invite from them to try out their signature Mucota DYNA treatment!

Thought to yield a very much less straight looking, non-permanent results, I was assured by my stylist, Chris Wong, that DYNA can be used to produce permanent, straight hair. And as part of my hair are quite damaged from bleaching, he used a stronger number 1 cream, DYNA CAT, on my newly grown curly roots and then the milder DYNA CA on my already rebonded ends.

Other than the usual heat protecting spray, there's also this hair treatment cream with collagen to further nourish my hair.

The unappealing shade of hay-yellow aside, you can see that my hair is really dry, especially at the ends and there's a portion (I reckon that's the portion of my hair that got the most bleached) that looks fried.

In spite of me going in pretty late, Chris still worked on my hair diligently and after 3.5 hours' of work, gave me a head of soft, smooth and straight tresses!

I like how DYNA does not have the very strong pungent smell that's characteristic to the usual rebonding cream (like Mucota Opera) and leaves our hair a lot softer and naturally straight.

The fact that it's effectively a treatment also means that my fried ends got saved! I can assure you that those fried ends you see on the left weren't snipped off to give the after photo on the right.
I'll highly recommend ladies with curly, unruly and yet damaged hair to give this DYNA treatment a try. Moreover, Headlines is giving a 10% discount to all of their first DYNA customer. Otherwise, you can bring a friend (new customer) on your 2nd visit onward to continue enjoying the discounted rate.

Otherwise, you may also quote my name "Mia Foo" to enjoy 10% discount off all services.
