Mucota Omega & Mucota Infinia at Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing [Sponsored]

If you've been following my blog and other random posts on my social media accounts, you should know that my frequent collaborations with Ken at Focus goes a long way back when I visited their Cuppage branch as a normal paying customer.

Imagine my surprise when Ken told me, starting next month, November 2020, he will be moving over to Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing instead.

Located at Hong Lim Complex, he's actually just shifted to the next building from where he's currently now  at (Chinatown Point). HAHA!

And so, other than snipping off a few more centimetres of my dry, scratchy hair ends and doing my usual Mucota Omega (hair rebonding) touch up, Ken also introduced the new (albeit, not THAT new, but still new to me) Mucota Infinia Hair Treatment.

Touted as the number 1 anti-frizz hair treatment, Mucota Infinia is effective for highly damaged bleached hair, which tends to have cuticles that are wide open. Mucota Infinia contains acidic components that will help to close up the cuticles, hence making the hair soft and smooth again.
In addition, the treatment, although strong at repairing our hair from inside to ourside, is also lightweight and doesn't weigh the hair down. The treatment also takes considerably shorter time to complete, in less than an hour, with the effects lasting 4 to 6 weeks!

Unlike Mucota Scena, which comes in 3 or 5 steps, Mucota Infinia comes in either 3 (A, B, C) or 4 (additional S) steps. According to Ken, Mucota Infinia also contains less silicone, hence the treated hair may not feel as soft and silky smooth as compared to Mucota Scena.

Yay to tidy, straight hair roots again!

True enough, my hair felt a little stiffer compared to how it usually felt after doing Mucota Scena, but I love how quick Mucota Infinia takes, and still made my hair soft and smooth. It's been slightly more than 2 weeks since my hair appointment, and yet with daily washing, my hair still feels smooth to the touch!

Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing is now offering a 20% discount on all hair services to all first time customers. Otherwise, you can also quote "Mia Foo" to enjoy the same 20% discount promotion!

Kudos by Headlines Hairdressing is located at

Focus Hairdressing: Mucota Omega & Free Scena+ Home Treatment

In case you missed my previous hair post, I've gotten some pretty C-Curls while having Mucota Omega rebonding done at Focus Hairdressing (read about my experience HERE)

Loves how this volume rebonding gave... well, volume (duh!) to an otherwise-will-be-very-flat rebonded hair and also added some pretty loose curls at the ends.
But taking care of the curls do need some work (and skills).

But thank goodness I have my #sponsoredbythebf Dyson Supersonic, which comes with a diffuser attachment that made blowing out the curls a breeze.

But of course, as I was seriously lacking in skills, I never managed to get back those pretty, fancy looking curls Ken blew out for me back at the salon. But having some curls in my dead-straight-for-more-than-ten-years hair was definitely a great change and I've been getting compliments on my new hairdo every now and then.

But, oh well, all good things must come to an end.
About 5 to 6 months after getting the curls done, they were pretty much reduced into a tiny flick at the end, which honestly speaking, looked kind of messy in my opinion, for they always choose to flick in all different directions.
But I reckon it was mostly because of my serious lack of skills in blow-drying and eventually also gave up/got too lazy to continue with it (I just left my hair to air dry and didn't even bother to do all the twisty-curly motions).

And so, I decided. Goodbye, curls. It was good while it lasted.

Returned to Focus Hairdressing again, this time to regain the smooth and straight hair via Mucota Omega Oil Therapy again.

Hello again, soft & smooth straight hair. :)

Focus Hairdressing: Getting my C-Curls!

Well, I'm terribly sorry about the bad quality pictures. Left my Samsung NX Mini at home and the Samsung Note 4 has thoroughly failed me with her (I insist it's a she, since mine is pink) camera that always give me grainy, blurry pictures.
So, please bear with me.

And anyway, if you still didn't know, Focus Hairdressing has opened another (smaller branch) at Chinatown Point, located at Level 2 right beside Din Tai Fung and above McDonald's. Stationed at this smaller, more easily accessible via MRT (Chinatown station) branch are Ken, Jane and Louis.
Well, frankly speaking I would prefer heading to the Cuppage branch (I'm not very into the Chinatown vibes, somehow) but since Ken has moved over to the Chinatown branch, I decided to visit this branch as well.

And yes, after so much talks of wanting to perm my hair, I finally did it!

YAYY!

Initially I couldn't decide if I wanted C-Curls or S-Curls, and so Ken recommended that I go for C-Curls as it's more manageable for a perm-newbie like me. And yes, as you can see from the photograph, that he has chopped off about 1/3 of my hair as C-Curls wouldn't look as nice when the hair length is too long.

The session started with a quick, 5 minute Olaplex hair reparative treatment, which serves as a form of 'hair insurance' to strengthen my hair. Well, 1/3 of my hair has been snipped off, but part of my (damaged) bleached hair from the past balayage hair dye session still remains at my new hair ends.

And of course, having unusually thick hair always means having an extra pair of hands working on your hair at the salon.
As I've opted for Mucota Omega Therapy (read my previous experience of it HERE) to rebond my curly roots, my day at Focus started out pretty much the same as all my previous Mucota rebonding sessions with them (read my Mucota Opera review HERE).

Until the curlers came in.
It was just a little worrying because the curls seems to be... quite high?

And I was greeted by this glorious ahjumma-curls when the curlers were first removed, which also reminded me of naruto. The Japanese fishcake, not the comic.
Then Ken came back with the flat iron again, to loosen up those tight curls into the way he wanted them to be.

And after another 10 minutes with the 2 different neutralisers (cream for the rebonded part and liquid ones for the curled part)

TADAA~!
(taken 1 day after the salon visit)

As usual, the Mucota Omega Therapy left my hair feeling soft and smooth, with the exception of a specific bunch of the curled ends, which was the bleached part (oh, how long more will it take for me to get rid of you nasty bleached hair?), that felt a distinctively different, less soft and smooth.

And you'll be glad to know that Focus Hairdressing is celebrating their 7th anniversay this October! And to commemorate their 7th year in business, they're having a special promotion for the following Mucota hair services:

Mucota DYNA
Mucota OMEGA Therapy

Visit their FB page HERE to find out more about these October promotion and hurry, because there's only 1 more week left to this awesome month (it's awesome because I'm an October baby).

Mia's Review: Loreal Hair Colouring At Headlines By Artistry [Sponsored]

And so, after trying out Mucota DYNA treatment at Headlines by Artistry last month, I was back at the salon again to get rid of my faded, hay-coloured hair ends.

Without a concrete idea of exactly what colour I'll want to try out, I decided to leave it to my stylist, Chris, and we decided to go for a reddish-brown colour that'll fade into a light brown (hopefully no more yellow ends!).

My Golden Lion Tamarin look! Well, I don't know if I can pass it off as an intended ombre-hair, but... I'm really not feeling the yellowness.

Even with my thick and long hair, the procedure of getting both the hair colouring and the Mucota Scena 3 step hair treatment, and a haircut took me only about 2 hours or so.

Chris also took the time to curl my otherwise lifelessly straight hair ends into pretty curls while blow-drying my hair. Ahh, if only it can be done easily with my amateur skills... or rather, no skills.

And a selfie in natural lighting to show you the actual colour of my hair, a pretty reddish milk chocolate brown colour. Doing the Mucota Scena 3 Step Treatment also means I get soft and smooth hair for the next 3 weeks or so! I reckon if you have relatively healthy hair (unlike my bleached ones) you can get the smoothing effect to last for up to 1 month.
