Getting Pretty Nails with Move Manicure [Sponsored]

Love to have impeccably manicured nails, but simply too lazy to head out to the nail salon?

Fret not, for Move Manicure will move (to) wherever you are, bringing the complete nail salon experience to your home.

Armed with a mobile station of nail polishes, accessory tools and even a foot soak basin, be rest assured that you will always get the best mani/pedi experience in the comfort of your home with Move Manicure.
But of course, you got to provide the luxurious, comfy couch, pleasantly chilly air-conditioned room and the delightfully warm and clean foot soak water yourselves. HAHA!
But honestly speaking, kudos to the dedication of their manicurists for having to lug the big and heavy trolley of their polishes and tools, and a foot soak basin, to all corners of Singapore just to give you a mani/pedi in your home.

Instead of the usual big brands, Move Manicure chose to use Nailise gel polishes instead, which is a relatively new line of nail products with a 13-free and vegan formula. No animal testing, yay!

And this is the part of having a classic manicure that I always do not enjoy, getting my cuticles pushed back and excess overhang snipped off. There're times when some (less skillful?) manicurists got too obsessed with all the pushing and snipping that it starts to sting (or even bleed! T.T). But my manicurist with Move Manicure was both quick and light handed, yet thorough and meticulous.

And as one of my guy pal, R always say, "Out of all the females I know, you always have very unique looking nails (art design)."
When I get my nails done, I'll always love to give my manicurist a good drawing challenge. But this time round, I have only myself to blame for a double-booking booboo and could only squeeze out 1 hour for the manicure. So there's definitely no time to attempt anything fancy and I was okay with just a solid coat of pink gel nails, but they were nice enough to offer doing at least something simple, in spite of me giving them only 1 hour.

And so I thought, how about a glam up French nails with golden tip?
But unfortunately, there wasn't any solid gold colour available in their stash of gel polishes, and I wasn't that keen on chrome or trying to achieve a clean tip with glitter polish, so I opted for glitter ombre instead.

Really like how my manicurist was quick and yet thorough with her work, always double-checking and comparing the intensity of the glitter ombre from nail to nail to ensure the consistency.
But she's also the first manicurist I've encountered, who looked totally at lost for what to do when I handed her my mobile phone and asked if she could help me take a picture (of my nails).
It was a rather funny moment when she thought I wanted her to take a photo of ME. HAHA!

Apart from the usual nail spa and mani/pedi, Move Manicure also provides mani/pedi packages catered for men and children. Apparently, they also provide nail services to elderly and may even offer discounted prices on a case-by-case basis.

Mia's Review: Home Nails Gelish Manicure Soak Off [Sponsored]

If you haven't read about how I got my amazingly pretty gelish nail manicure with Home Nails previously, I suggest you check it out HERE before you learn more about their peculiar way of doing their gelish soak off.

After almost 3 weeks, it's really surprising to find that my gelish manicure looked just as pretty as day 1, just that my nail has grown uncomfortably long and I risk scratching my eyeballs while removing my contact lens.

You'll be glad to know that Home Nails provides free soak off (or perhaps, removal will be a better word) if you take up their packages. If not, every return soak off will be on 50% off from their usual listed price of $20.
And so before my therapist, Bella, got started with removing my fancy gelish manicure, I got my whitening hand spa (worth $48) started.

First up was a whitening scrub to exfoliate and remove my dead skin.

And then the therapist, Bella, slathered on the whitening mask generously with a big brush.

And then wrapping my arms up with cling wrap before proceeding with my gelish manicure soak off.

Yes, even though I call it a 'soak off', the unique in-house technique Home Nails employ does not require the usage of any chemicals to soak off our gelish manicure as it dries our fingers. This special removal technique is created and fine tuned by Home Nails' founder, Huiqin, over the years.

It's hard to put it into words, so let the video show you how it's done.

After removing every bits and pieces of my fanciful gelish manicure, Bella then carefully file down my nails to shape and apply a layer of nail strengthening coat and dab on some cuticle oil to restore my natural nails' beautiful shine.

The cling wraps and whitening mask was also cleaned off with a damp towel and Bella finished off my complimentary hand spa session by applying a whitening hand moisturiser on my arms. I could see that the treated portion of my skin turned visibly brighter, albeit not captured well on the camera.

Mia's Review: Gelish Manicure at Home Nails Salon [Sponsored]

If you follow me on IG (@mianne86), you probably know that I've gotten my first ever gelish manicure from Home Nails very recently.

Located conveniently near Dhoby Ghaut MRT Station (sharing the same space with Poise Hair Studio), Home Nails Salon started out as a home-based nail salon in 2008 and gradually worked its way up to a retail nail salon in town!

The owner obtained her certifications from Korea, specialising in nail designs and the other nail therapists obtained their certifications from reputable academies, the likes of APT Professional Team.

Home Nails has been voted the Top 10 Best Nail Salons in Singapore by Honeycombers in 2013, and has also been lauded by Her World magazine in 2014 as one of the must visit salon. Recently, Home Nails' nail art has also been featured in the June 2015 issue of Timeout magazine for the Fashion Week Singapore.

Some of Home Nails' popular services are gel extension, 3D nail arts, gelish nails and bridal nails.

And since Home Nails is sharing the space with Poise Hair Studio (you got to enter Poise first and Home Nails will be to your left), you can arrange to do your nails while having your hair done!

So while having my hair dyed, I got my cuticles cut (without soaking, as getting nails wet before applying gelish will promote fungus growth thus Home Nails strongly advocates that. Such professionalism!), nails trimmed and a gelish manicure with pretty nail art designs done by the very talented therapist. I'm still very amazed at how she can do such delicate works on my nails while having such ridiculously long nail extensions herself. Her nails are so long, she even used it as a palette to hold the gel polishes while she did the nail art designs on my nails.
MAJOR RESPECT.

And here's what I got on my nails after the talented therapist, Bella, is done with them. I've never thought that I will ever get such pretty nails that wouldn't chip on me like, immediately after leaving the nail salon. HAHAHA!

It's been more than a week now and my nails still look exactly like day 1, no chips at all. There's also countless compliments from my colleagues and questions on how much I spent on these nails. It was sponsored by Home Nails but I took a peep at their price list and they're pretty reasonable. Home Nails has no qualms in showing their pricing online.

The 4 huge jewels that was placed on my forefingers and ring fingers didn't give me any issue during hair-washing either (I was a little bit worried that it might constantly get caught in my hair).

Home Nails' therapists really go the extra mile to make sure every single detail is perfectly done. The colour layers were topped up until full opacity achieved; glitters reapplied until the intended look achieved, and at one point the therapist even had to painstakingly pick out the bigger pieces of glitter from the polish to dab on my nails; jewels carefully chosen to make sure the overall look is not compromised. And by the end of the manicure, instead of just applying a top coat, the therapist actually layered on a thick coat of curing gel (or whatever it's proper technical name is), file and buff it to smooth out the edges, and then finally finish the manicure with a layer of top coat to give it a beautiful shine.
