Mia's Review: Carboxy Body Shaper Pro [Sponsored]

A while back, I did a review on the product, DJ Carboxy Therapy Mask , that gave miraculous results on face slimming. This time, it's time to get on with the real deal. The Carboxy Body Shaper Pro, which essentially is the same thing, but targets fat burning & slimming for body!

As 1 sheet of the mask paper is pretty big, they've very thoughtfully mark out the amount of gel to use for 1 full sheet of paper or half sheet of paper. 

And I decided to test the product out first on my flabby (lower) tummy!

That's a 93.7-ish cm before my first try of the product. 

Cutting the mask sheet into half and then cutting the half into half again, I used the big sheet for my tummy and the 2 smaller sheets for my love handles. 

Using the product was just exactly like how you use the one for face, smearing the gel thickly over the target area and then pressing the mask sheet over, massaging it until all the bubbling sensation stopped before leaving it on for another 30 to 50 minutes. For even better results, wrap the area with cling wrap. 

As compared to the face mask, I felt that the heating effect is very much less mild. I could hardly felt any heat at all. And with just a 5 minutes of massaging and another 45 minutes of sitting around and waiting for the product to do its job....

I've lost almost 2cm! And I didn't even use cling wrap to wrap up my tummy for the 45 minutes!

Definitely going to go crazy with the cling wrap for my next 7 uses and hopefully those pesky muffin top will go away!

Slimming at Beyond Beauty: RF Fat Burner

Previously, I've talked about my experience with Ionto & Hot Blanket at Beyond Beauty and after more than 1 month of treatment, I've finally moved on to the next form of treatment, the RF fat burner, to further melt away my stubborn fats.

RF, which stands for Radio Frequency, promotes natural fat combustion to Free Fatty Acid (FFA) through a process called liquefaction. Rf provides a consistent and effective heating for fat underneath the skin, accelerating the cell metabolism while liquefying fat cells of targeted part of the body. The FFA are then removed from the body via the lymphatic system, giving rise to an effective slimming results. In addition, RF also stimulates the fibrous cords, stretching them to provide a tighter and smoother appearance, effectively reducing cellulite appearances.

So after the usual routine of changing out of my apparel, taking my weight and settling down onto the treatment bed, the therapist pushed in this complicated looking RF machine. 

I'll say the RF tool (I'm tempted to call it a hammer) is pretty small but the overall experience was nothing less than comfortable. With different intensity, the tool will generate different levels of heat and the therapist will use the heated tool to massage your area of concern thoroughly for 20 minutes. Having done both my tummy and thighs, I'll say I enjoyed the treatment at my tummy a lot more. The heat from the tool felt really nice and the massaging motion was really comfortable. The tummy session was then ended with a relaxing hot mask that helps to further burn fat and tighten the skin. 

Even though this set of treatment doesn't give an immediate weight loss like the Ionto+Hot Blanket treatment, I would still very much prefer the RF treatment because the whole session just felt like a relaxing massage and I could feel that the treated area (especially my flabby tummy) felt somewhat 'tighter' just after that 20 minutes.

Beyond Beauty Slimming: Ionto & Hot Blanket

Yay, more slimming treatments! I was really glad to be able to work with Beyond Beauty this time round for a 3-months slimming programme targeting my thunder thighs. 

Needless to say, I chose to visit their outlet conveniently located at Tampines Junction every Sunday morning. 

Their treatment room is fully equipped with not just a hot bed (and blanket) and wash basin, but also a shower room with shower gel and shampoo for you to wash up after your treatment.

Here goes my 1st treatment during week 1.

After changing out of my clothes and into their white paper undies (semi-transparent, noooo!) and shower cap, the very friendly and professional staff first helped me take down my weight and body measurement before starting off with a sea salt body scrub mean for detoxification of my body and then wrapping up my thighs in cling wrap and sending me into the hot blanket for further detoxification of the body. The heat helps promote blood circulation which helps to enhance natural lymphatic flow and also helps with water retention problems. 

And if you have no idea what's a hot blanket...

This is basically what a hot blanket looks like and I've laid like so, wrapped up like a cocoon and sweated it out like a horse. The staff first left me steaming inside for the first 15 minutes before coming in to check on me every other 5 minutes to make sure that I do not get cooked giddy from the heat or over-sweating. 

The uncomfortable feeling of having large sea-salt grains on your body and sweating buckets under a hot blanket aside, I actually found it pretty funny that I actually resembled a pig getting marinated (with the salt) and then getting roasted. HAHAHA! I could really feel those large sea-salt scrubbing beads dissolving into my sweat, no joke!

And after a grueling 25 minutes, I was freed from the hot blanket and sent into the showers before moving on to part two of my treatment for the day.

Ionto (Electro-Therapy)

ElectroSlim is a customized slimming session using electrodes to treat your specific problem. This treatment has been proven to be extremely effective for firming and smoothing the musculature and connecting tissue, and as a measure to counteract cellulite. Furthermore, good results are achieved in the reduction of fatty tissue as well as activation of the micro-circulation and lymph flow.

Ionto are good for problems such as:

1. Disturbances of the metabolism

2. Weight reduction problems

3. Slack connecting tissue

4. Slack musculature

5. Cellulite

6. Panniculosus adiposus (not caused by illness)

7. Water collecting in the connecting tissue

I had 4 pads stuck on my thighs, which sends these jolts of electricity into my muscle tissues for 20 minutes straight and viola, first treatment which took me roughly about 1 hour is done! 

And after the 1 hour, I've lost about 0.6kg of weight and a total of 1.3cm reduction off my hip and thighs. 

And now to my 2nd treatment during week 2, the sea-salt scrub was taken off the treatment list and I went straight into the Ionto on a higher scale (that gave me a numb-shocking after feeling for a good few minutes) for the same 20 minutes before getting a full body wrap and lying under the hot blanket for 30 minutes! I perspired so much, my sweat trickled out from in between the cling wrap layers as I shifted my body around due to the restlessness. 

No measurements were taken after the treatment so I didn't know how many cm I've lost, but that's another 0.6kg lost after the hour's of treatment with my initial weight of the day being 0.2kg lighter than last week's. YAY!

Mia's Review: Suddenly Slender Ionithermie Body Contouring Treatment [Sponsored]

During the launch at Holiday Inn, we were shown a live demonstration of the IBC treatment on a pretty model.

2. Thermal Aroma Mask

3. Aromatherapy

And then, I finally got to try out this amazing sounding treatment very recently at Suddenly Slender, Holiday Inn Orchard branch.

Their tea brewer and candies are set up right at the waiting area..

The small consultation room was prettily done with with a chandelier-like lighting and comfy looking chairs.

Yup, they won the best total body-toning treatment (non-machine based) for Women's Weekly Best in Beauty 2010.

For security reasons, lockers are provided for customers to lock away their valuables during the treatment session.

Then I was sent to the treatment room to change our of clothes into their disposable undergarments (bra and panties) and a robe before the therapist showed me to their sauna cubicle.

It's a private cubicle, and I was asked to remove my robes and only sit inside in my disposable undergarment at 135 degree F, which eventually rose to 140 degree F (60 degree C).

They're thoughtful enough to provide you with a cup of water and a dry towel inside for us to dry our pouring sweat. It would have been better if I've had a damp towel to cover my face/top of my head though.

And after 20 minutes of sweating like a horse inside the sauna cubicle, I was brought back into the treatment room to take down my before measurements and then kick start my treatment!

There were two therapists performing the treatment for me as it's really a "big project" and I doubt assigning just 1 therapist will be easy. It's really a labour-intensive treatment for the therapists, with many preparation required for setting up the mask in the mould and attachment of all the wires and such.

First up, the body toner (blue bottle) was used to cleanse my skin and prep it for the A+B ampoule, and positive & negative ions.

And as one therapist was busy with application of the ampoules on my body, another was busy preparing the algae-infused mask and distributing them evenly onto the mould (not in pictures) with the electrode pads attachment fixed for the back of my legs.
Then, both therapists (with my own pilates skills) helped to slid the mould underneath my body such that the back of my thighs right up to my lower back was fitted snugly inside and "coated" with the mask.

Then, more of the mask was applied onto the top part of my body (tummy and down to front of thighs) and 3 more electrode pads attached, 2 on the thighs and 1 on my tummy.

It took nothing more then mere seconds for the skillful therapists to fix all the wires in, and on came the current.

"It's going to be a little prickly, more intensive at the thighs as you have 2 on each thigh while on the tummy there's only 1."

Yes, for the intensity part. But prickly, no. It just felt like very small yet vigorously quick vibrations that was jiggling my fats. Ticklish more than prickly, actually.

Anyhow, I managed to fall asleep during the 30 minutes in "vibration mode".

And after 30 minutes was up, the therapists came back in and helped to clean off all the random bits of dried mask that stuck onto my body before applying body lotion for me.

And there you have it, my before and after! I lost a total of 5.2 inches, and that's 13.2 cm!
Before you think that my thighs measure a good 8 inches thicker than my waist, and my calves topped it all at 40 inches... Erm, no. Haha, the consultant somehow didn't jot down my stats according to the table.
And according to her, mine is not the most jaw-dropping results she has personally seen, for a another blogger lost about 9 inches!

I simply love smelling this Morning Boost blend! It smells so yummy, of pineapples and strawberry with a hint of grapefruit. 

But taste wise, it's just a normal, unsweetened Japanese green tea taste. 

It's stated on the back of the package to leave the teabag in hot water for 4-5 minutes. But it's actually not long enough for the tea flavour to come out at all. What I did was, I left it sitting for 15 to 20 minutes because I start to sip at it, with the teabag still left sitting inside my mug for another 5 to 10 minutes before I throw it out. 

And as for that boost of energy level in the day? Nope, sorry, I didn't experience that. My usual morning coffee (which I omitted while on this 28 days teatox) did so much better for that morning wake up call. 

So throughout the 28 days, I was pretty miserably doing my paperwork in office, trying desperately not to doze off at my table (bosses seated right behind me), all the way from 9am to 6pm. 

Ended my teatox on Thursday and revert to my usual morning coffee on Friday. Whoa, I felt so much better typing away at my desk. 

Gym sessions after my work didn't get any better either, and in fact, on bad days, I felt even more lethargic after exercising. 

So yup, I may continue drinking Morning Blend, but only because I love drinking green tea and I love the fruity scent of this tea. But for the effects that it boast to give? Nah.... I'll rather stick to my trusted coffee.

And drinking Night Cleanse blend is actually not as enjoyable, all because of its taste. :(

Smelling and tasting strongly of ginger and lemongrass, drinking this tea every other night became more of a chore. I was hoping that the peppermint and hawthorn berries tastes will mask up the ginger-lemongrass-licorice root combination, but it turned out otherwise. I have no idea why it's stated as an earthy-lemony blend, but it's not lemony at all, unless you add in your own lemon slice to it, which I've seen other ladies doing so. 

Nevertheless, in return for the not so pleasant taste, you get a good efficacy of this product. The morning after the first night, I visited the loo for up to 4x! I wasn't really diarrhoeaing, even though I did experience some loose stools, but was passing out all the toxins I've accumulated in my body. 

I shall spare you the details here, but you'll know you're being detoxed once you observe your own stools, won't you? 

A small (gross) tip, better to find a more private toilet whereby you can clean up the *cough cough* sticky, black mess *cough cough* easily. Or, if you're not that considerate enough to leave a clean toilet for the next user, then so be it.

Just 2 weeks ago, I was really excited to receive this in the mail.

 It's two boxes of Trimton sponsored for a trial period of 20 days.

I've long heard about Trimton (and subsequently about Trimton 2), first from P, and then from all the raves on forums like CozyCot and the now defunct FlowerPod. I was truly amazed by how effective it seems to be, promising of obvious weight loss just by popping the pills. No exercise required! 

Trimton is a great hit in Singapore and Hong Kong over 8 years and use totally natural ingredients with different international certification. It helps to trim our belly and it was reported to have successfully help a lady slim down more than 77 pounds. Sounds like some miracle slimming pill, huh! Let's get on with the product description first. 

Trimton 1 is focused on the aspect of [Trim Belly], and in natural way. 

 It mainly has 3 functions:

1.      Blocking

Neutralize excessive absorption or suppress appetite

2.      Fat Burning

Boost metabolism to burn excess fat

3.      Detoxification

Cleanse and eliminate body toxins

One treatment of trimton will require 3 boxes of 60 pills per box, with the recommended dosage being 2 capsules 30 minutes before breakfast and lunch, and 3 capsules for dinner.

 It contain with natural ingredients like white kidney bean, Gacinia cambogia (HCA) to burn your fat, especially on your tummy area, with no side effect and perfectly safe to use.

Now let's get on to my thoughts on this product. 

First up, the packaging. I feel that the packaging is a little too much. The bottle is really barely taking up 1/4 of the entire box size and I'll love to have their packaging downsizing into a more bag friendly purchase. 

And finally, on to the results. After going through many reviews and raves all over the internet, I conclude that this product will not only just trim down your belly miraculously, but also gives symptoms such as increased heart rate and increased bowel movements. 

But sad to say, nothing happened on me. 

Throughout the trial period of 8th to 21st April, I've lost 0g and 0mm. And I was truly disappointed. 

But then it got to me that I've probably been fed too much miraculous raves on the internet that I've developed an unreasonable expectation for this product. It's only right that we see results at least after 1 treatment is completed, if not more. Moreover, usually in our excitement of hoping to see that darned number on the scale dropping day by day, we tend to forget that such (miraculously) good results will vary in individuals. To subject A (perhaps more overweight and with more to lose), results may come a lot quicker as compared to subject B (perhaps already at a healthy weight but just wishes to lose that pesky 1 or 2kg to hit her own 'ideal' weight).

Hence, I personally deemed this trial period way too short for me to conclude whether Trimton does deliver what it claims to. However, I reckon the 2 weeks is a safe gauge to believe that Trimton will not bring about any short term side effects, like how some slimming medication are known to give. Meanwhile I shall finish up my 1 treatment of Trimton before deciding if this popular product is really for me.

As you can see from the packaging, Into Arm & Body targets flabby arms and tummy, using a new Heat Deep Penetrating formula activates EGF, HCA, Caffeine and Liporeductyl to reach our fat cells and then cut it fast by a high speed burning. This product also has a high 2Base (license by Germany and Japan) concentration, helping to tighten our skin and avoid cellulite after slimming down. There is no addition of chilli or ginger extract into this slimming gel, so there's absolutely no worries of skin irritation or prolong burning sensation left over on the hands after application. 2B also uses microwater molecule G2, which has smaller particles that are easily absorbed by our skin. The heat of the product goes into deep adipose layer for optimum results will not leave a sticky sheen after usage. 

With that short introduction, let's get on with the review of this product. 

Here's a series of my before pictures, showing my horrible flabby arms and fat tummy. :(

My stats were as follow:

Left arm - 27cm (yikes!)

Right arm - 26.5cm 

Upper waist (my slimmest part of the torso) - 73cm

Lower waist (right below my belly button, at my lower abdomen) - 83cm

The gel is really easy to use. Basically you just apply it to cleansed, dry skin and massage gently for 3 to 5 minutes, for best results, or until product has been absorbed fully by the skin. 

As you can see, it is a clear soft and rather watery gel and spreads across the skin effortlessly. The first minute or two after application will leave a sticky film on the surface of the skin, but after the product is fully absorbed, the skin feels fresh and comfortable with no sticky residue at all. 

After which, you will experience a warming sensation, which normally last for 10 to 15 minutes for my case. There's nothing to be worried about, as the warm sensation is mild and comfortable, not 'prickly' or 'spicy' at all. 

And after applying the gel diligently every night after my showers since 13/03 till now, let's see my results. 

You might not really see much from the upfront photo, but sideways you can see that my tummy muscles are more defined. 

Oh, I used to have abs from dance and pilates and laziness has allowed a thick layer of fats to accumulate on top of them. But do take note that I've coupled 2B with my usual toning exercises. I did not live my life as a couch potato and expecting the gel to do all the work. 

The arms results weren't as satisfying, as seen from the photos.

Lower Waist - 82.5cm

In just barely 2 weeks, I've experienced a 0.5cm reduction in my waistline! Those raves online weren't over nothing, obviously. Somehow, the results was not that surprising (as long as you expect this highly raved product to work) as it always seems to be the case that the tummy slims down much quicker and easier as compared to other problematic areas such as arms and thighs. Even though there's no slimming effect on my arms after 2 weeks, I did notice that my skin feels smoother to the touch, and hopefully by the end of 1 treatment (3 tubes) there will be visible results on my arms as well.
